April 2021 Talent Showcase- Nancy Simpson
The SummitMedia family is made of talented people who go above and beyond in the workplace. The April 2021 talent showcase features Nancy Simpson, KTTS-FM Morning Show host, Springfield Missouri.
Nancy started with KTTS in January of 1998 as a full-time overnight reporter. Nancy was later promoted to Assistant News Director where she has earned 12 Edward R. Murrow Awards for her news coverage, including hard news feature, investigative reporting, best digital news story, and three writing awards. Nancy has also won 13 Missouri Broadcasters Association Awards for coverage that includes investigative reporting, news series, and six best radio newscast awards in the state of Missouri. After spending 20 years in the KTTS News department, Nancy became the KTTS Morning Show co-host which is currently rated #1 in Springfield. Nancy’s ability to connect with and serve the KTTS listeners and clients is second to none. Nancy is always ready to get the job completed on-air and on-site as she is consistently involved with the Springfield community. Nancy’s news background and market knowledge helps create and shape the top rated KTTS morning show and the radio station.
Outside of radio, you can find Nancy spending time with her family, cooking, and attending baseball games. Nancy also volunteers for many organizations, including Cattle Baron's Ball, Habitat for Humanity, and Christian County Homeless Alliance. She also tours local schools and encourages children to find and follow their passion. Additionally, Nancy is also a storyteller at heart and has an award-winning podcast, The Toll, which she is co-creator, author, and host. The Toll has over 100,000 listens in 64 countries and allows Nancy to inform people about cold cases in the Springfield area in hopes of giving families some answers.
