John Olsen is Executive Vice President of Programming at SummitMedia, where he oversees day-to-day programming across the company’s stations. He works closely with SummitMedia’s senior programming leadership team to grow brands, increase audience engagement and improve performance across the company’s broadcast and digital platforms.
Olsen brings nearly 30 years of experience in programming and on-air broadcasting. He joined SummitMedia in 2013 as National Program Director. Earlier in his career, he spent 12 years as a Program Director with Cox Media Group, and his work has taken him to Baltimore, Miami, Long Island, New York, and Birmingham, Alabama. He is a graduate of Salisbury University.
Known as a practical problem-solver, Olsen continually refines systems and processes to help teams work more effectively, accelerate performance and support sustainable growth. His leadership combines creative programming instincts with strategy and research, helping brands and talent reach their full potential.
