Jeff McGinley - Vice President, Engineering
I began my career in radio at WMET-AM in Gaithersburg, Maryland, where I contributed to the station's wide-reaching broadcasts across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Following in the footsteps of my father, who served as the Chief Engineer of WPGC at the time, and my uncle, who held the position of General Manager of Minnesota Public Radio in Mankato, I entered the broadcasting industry with great enthusiasm.
During my time pursuing a degree at Fordham University, I briefly worked at WFVU in New York City. However, I relocated to Missoula, Montana to complete my higher education at the esteemed University of Montana. Throughout my academic journey, I dedicated approximately six years to working with a Fisher cluster of radio stations in Missoula.
Upon the culmination of my studies, CBS Radio welcomed me to their team in Portland, Oregon in 2002. I remained with CBS until 2006 when I transitioned to Entercom Communications, conveniently located across the street from my previous workplace.
In 2010, I relocated to Seattle, where I embarked on a short-lived role at iHeart before transitioning to the Telos Alliance, where I proudly served until 2019. As a Senior Axia support and installer, I had the privilege of traveling extensively worldwide. I also had the opportunity to share my knowledge and expertise at various conventions, enlightening fellow broadcast engineers about the revolutionary technology spearheaded by Telos, which continues to shape the industry.
In 2019, Entercom, now Audacy, successfully enticed me back to join their ranks, where I assumed the esteemed position of Director of Technical Operations for the Pacific Northwest. I remained in this capacity until the middle of May of this year when I embarked on an exciting new chapter of my career at Summit.
Furthermore, in addition to my extensive professional background, I hold a degree in Microcomputing Networking. Outside of work, my diverse interests include collecting and playing 1960s horn and key driven funk 45 rpm records. I am also a devoted classic Volkswagen Beetle enthusiast, having restored and owned three of these iconic vehicles, with my most recent acquisition being a 1974 Superbeetle. Additionally, I possess an insatiable passion for racing, avidly following F1, WEC, MotoGP, GT Cup, and IndyCar. On weekends, you may often find me completely engrossed in these exhilarating events, reminiscent of Steve McQueen's sentiment in Le Mans: "Racing is life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting."
