Tis the Season for Toys for Tots

Birmingham’s 104.7 WZZK, 106.9 The Eagle and Mix 97.3 joined forces with the US Marines for the annual Toys for Tots campaign to make sure every child in central Alabama had a special Christmas.  Playing Santa is a big job and the radio stations provided several ways for their listeners to become a part of this year’s campaign that included: Drop Off client locations, Shopping Night where over $20,000 in sponsorship dollars was spent on toys, Family Dinner Night with proceeds benefitting Toys for Tots at the local Culver’s restaurant, and the 40 Hour Toy and Bike Drive where two moving trucks were filled with bicycles and thousands of toys were collected at a local Wal-Mart!  At the close of the three week campaign, the stations helped raise enough toys and bikes to serve over 9,000 families in Central Alabama!
