Julie Monafo

Julie Monafo is Market President of SummitMedia Richmond, where she leads local media operations with a focus on broadcast and digital sales management. She coaches and supports Account Managers in helping local businesses reach their audiences through effective advertising and integrated marketing solutions designed to meet their growth goals.

Monafo brings 35 years of media sales and sales management experience, including 25 years in Richmond. She has been with SummitMedia since its founding 13 years ago, advancing from General Sales Manager to Director of Sales to Market President. Previously, she spent 12 years with Cox Media Group Richmond, rising from Regional Account Manager to General Sales Manager. Earlier, she worked with Paramount Stations Group in Boston, Back Bay Broadcasters in Providence and Benchmark Communications in Greenville, South Carolina.

In 2025, Monafo was one of 12 recipients of The Center for Sales Strategy’s Talent Superhero Award. She serves on the board of directors of the Virginia Association of Broadcasters and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a minor in advertising, from Clemson University.
