SummitMedia is looking for a skilled Promotions Manager that is passionate about the community, listeners, and radio. The ideal candidate must be able to manage the development and execution of all station promotions, community service efforts and assist in the development of station marketing opportunities as well as enhancing station image and visibility within the community that will attract new listeners and clients. The Promotions Manager is responsible for enhancing station image and visibility within the community. The Promotions Manager must also act as liaison between programming and sales to develop overall station campaigns, themes, and marketing approaches plus develop revenue-generating promotions that cross promote clients, third parties, and the radio station. This is a position that involves assisting with the functions of on-air and on-site promotions and the implementation of marketing efforts at the local level. On-site events include advertiser sponsored events and station sponsored events, i.e. live broadcasts, remotes, concerts, community service appearances, and talent appearances. The candidate will also be expected to converse comfortably with the public in an outgoing and friendly manner. Promotion Manager must also be aggressive and creative on social media as well as possess the abilities to analyze and understand social media engagement
Roles and Responsibilities: Create, maintain, and supervise station contests and on-air implementation. Manage day to day promotional operations within the department including policies, procedures, staffing. Represent the station at community events and act as a liaison with community and corporate entities. Coordinate activities of other departments involved in the production of promotions and remotes. Attend remotes as needed. Work with vendors in ordering promotional material. Create and develop promotional campaigns to generate revenue and ratings opportunities for station. Oversee on-air, on-line, and on-site contesting and promotions. Create proposals and promotional concepts congruent with station image and strategies. Manage, write, and create client based promotional recaps. Update website content regularly. Be a liaison between sales and programming departments. Provide technical assistance for on-site remotes, van hits, and appearances. Attend and conduct weekly sales, promotions, and programming meetings. Collaborate with retail outlets, promoters, and community organizations. Meet day to day deadlines. Must be able to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment and be extremely passionate about promotions while able to juggle many responsibilities and projects. Other duties may be assigned.
General Requirements: Successful applicants must be organized, dependable, and self-motivators. A professional appearance, friendly demeanor, and a clean driving record is required. Valid Driver’s license required. Ideal candidate should have at least one to two years experience in promotions or event marketing. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe Audition is needed. The candidate must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Candidate must be able to lift 60lbs or more.
